Because the taste is simply unique! The secret is the special recipe, the selected ingredients and the careful preparation. Here we want to tell you about Nutella and all the passion and care we put into its production every day.
We choose only the freshest raw materials, carefully selected according to a sustainable sourcing and a great attention to their quality.
Sugar : Nutella contains beet sugar and/or refined cane sugar, depending on the geography of its production area. The sugar types we purchase globally can be roughly classified as follows: 75% beet sugar and 25% refined cane sugar.
Palm Oil : Palm fruit oil, generally known as palm oil, is extracted by pressing the pulp of the fruit of the oil palm tree (Elaeis Guineensis) which grows in regions around the equator. This tropical fruit is reddish in colour and is about the size of a large olive.
Hazelnuts: Hazelnuts are the fruits of the Corylus avellana L., a tree already well popular tens of centuries ago. In ancient Roman times, it was a custom to donate hazel plants to bring happiness. It was the same in France where the plant was given as a wedding gift to symbolise fertility.
Cocoa : Did you know that Cocoa (Theobroma cacao) means “Food of the Gods”? The Aztecs regarded cocoa as a sacred plant. Although Theobroma cacao surely originated in South America, the tree is now cultivated in tropical areas in the world.
Milk : In our recipe, we use skimmed milk powder and whey powder.
Lecithin : Lecithin is a natural emulsifier. Our lecithin is extracted from soy beans or sunflower seeds.
Vanillin : In Nutella, we use synthetic vanillin, an aroma identical to the one naturally present in the vanilla pod.
